Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Sumatra, ca. 19th century CE. A large wooden cartwheel with a square axle hub, the surface polished from the many miles it has traveled, likely pulled along by oxen. The wood has natural grooves, markings, and a rich patina from bumping along the dusty the unpaved roads. While mounted as a standalone piece of art, this wood is sturdy enough to mount as a unique table with a protective glass top. Size: 31" Diameter x 3.25" W (78.7 cm x 8.3 cm); 37" H (94 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private Hawaii collection, acquired 2000 to 2010
