Pre-Columbian, central Mexico, northern Veracruz, Huastec culture, ca. 600 to 900 CE. A truly lovely ancient sculpture! Seated female made of molded terracotta that was then slipped with white surface and painted with black highlights. She sits with legs crossed, nude save for small loin cloth, large headdress above with nice armbands and necklace, ears with large circular earspools. A very pretty example! Size: 3.75" W x 8.5" H (9.5 cm x 21.6 cm); 9.75" H (24.8 cm) on included custom stand.
