A signed, dated, and numbered lithograph comprised of and intriguing arrangement of numbers and letters by Hanne Darboven, one of the world's most important conceptual artists whose work was featured three times at documenta exhibitions in Kassel and have been collected by major international museums. In the 1960s, Hanne Darboven studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg under Willem Grimm and Almir Mavignier, and continued her studies in New York. Darboven was Influenced by the Minimal Artists, most significantly Sol LeWitt and Carl Andre; however, Darboven came upon her own unique form of Conceptual Art. Drawing from the time periods and checksums of the days, Darboven created interesting construction-like drawings on graph paper, and over the years reduced them to simple mathematical forms. She later translated her number sequences to note sequences. Size: 11.625" W x 16.25" H (29.5 cm x 41.3 cm)
