Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Guerrero, Mezcala, ca. 400 to 100 BCE. A finely-executed anthropomorphic figure, carved and string-cut from a gorgeous mottled stone of pale green hues with dark green inclusions. The figure is characteristically abstract and minimalistic, its face comprised of drilled eyes occupying a concave band across the front, an open mouth, curved back, and delineated limbs , though not separated from body like later examples.
