Pre-Columbian, Southern Mexico, Guerrero region, Mezcala culture, ca. 600 to 100 BCE. A hand-carved greenstone figure of intriguing form bearing delineated arms, legs, and waistline. The enlarged head exhibits minimalist features including deep, string-cut nasolabial folds, and the peaked brow gives the figure a pensive countenance. Size: 3.375" W x 7.5" H (8.6 cm x 19 cm); 7.8" H (19.8 cm) on included custom stand.
