Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Guanacaste / Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A hand-built pottery jar of sizable, spherical form bearing an abstract frog straddling the shoulder. The red-hued, round-bottomed vessel is decorated with black linear motifs and rests atop a pottery spool-shaped stand from the same area. Size: 10.3" W x 9.1" H (26.2 cm x 23.1 cm); 12" H (30.5 cm) on included pottery stand; (pottery stand): 8.1" W x 4.1" H (20.6 cm x 10.4 cm)
