Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima & Chupicuaro / Michoacan culture, ca. 500 BCE to 300 CE; Ecuador, Valdivian culture, Formative Period, ca. 2000 to 1500 BCE. A trio of pottery miniature figurines / idol figures from various pr-Columbian cultures. The 2 somewhat flattened figures are from ancient Mexican shaft tomb cultures - the Chupicuaro figure is mounted in a velvet lined wooden display box. The third figure is a pottery head and torso fragment with thin slits for eyes, brow, and mouth- the distinctive squared cap / hair framing the head. Size of tallest: 3.3" L x 1.45" W (8.4 cm x 3.7 cm)

Provenance: private Ojai, California, USA collection, by inheritance, collected before 2000
