Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Deadly solid lead projectiles used by the Roman military as an intermediate range weapon. Thrown with great accuracy and could be quite deadly. Some recent studies have suggested these were sometimes deliberately drilled or misshaped so they would make a whizzing sound as they approached the enemy. Size: 1.1" L x 0.625" W (2.8 cm x 1.6 cm)
