**Originally Listed At $400**

Ancient Greece, Rhodes, late Archaic Period, ca. early 5th century BCE. A hollow-cast pottery statue depicting an elegant female figure seated upon a tall, integral throne. She wears an ankle-length himation with both hands resting upon her thighs, with a slightly-rounded chest situated between rolled shoulders. Her delicate yet faded visage is comprised of almond eyes, a perky nose, a puffy chin, and a broad brow, all beneath a centrally-parted coiffure and a flowing headdress. The back of the chair boasts a pair of nubbin-shaped protrusions. This figure was likely created as a funerary offering to be placed inside a tomb. A wonderful example from ancient Rhodes! Size: 4.725" W x 7.875" H (12 cm x 20 cm).
