Magna Graecia, Apulia, Canosa, ca. second half of the 4th century BCE. An elegant, tall pouring vessel on a ring base and with a high, arched handle and pinched lip spout. This style of vessel, unique to Canosa, is known as Dorata, describing the ocher-colored surface pigment, made to imitate gilded metal vessels.
