Magna Graecia, Canosa, Hellenoise Region, ca. 450 - 380 BCE. A beautiful terracotta molded woman standing in traditional peplos gown, holding a ceremonial chest in her left hand. Her hair is curly and painted red in contrast to the added white pigment on her dress, skin, and pedestal. Her face is especially detailed with an off white color for skin, and very precise added black pigment for her eyes and eyebrows.
