A gorgeous, high fired blackware vessel boasting a shiny, almost metallic sheen The cup is of a generous size, the body with attractive ribbed, curved walls, a cylindrical neck, and flared rim at the top with a bifurcated single handle joining shoulder to rim. The Campanian school of pottery was first established at Capua circa 360 BCE, and is best known for its graceful wheel-thrown vases with elegant finishes as we see in this example.
