Greece, Macedonian, Kingdom of Thrace, ca. 305 to 281 BCE. A spectacular ancient silver Greek coin that is inlaid in a modern gold setting as a pendant and strung on a chain as a wearable necklace. The coin is a silver AR drachm, struck under Lysimachus, King of Thrace. Obverse: Diademed head of Alexander the Great, facing right, with horn of Ammon. Reverse: Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background. The formfitting bezel is 57% gold (13K+) and open on both sides to view the coin. The modern rope chain is 58.5% gold (14K+), with a barrel clasp. Size of pendant: 1.13" L x 0.71" W (2.9 cm x 1.8 cm); chain: 20" L (50.8 cm); gold quality: 57% to 58.5% (equivalent to 13K+ to 14K+); silver quality: 93.5%; total combined weight: 10.4 grams
