Classical World, Greco-Roman Period, ca. 1st century BCE to 1st century CE. A set of 2 hand-built pottery heads, each once part of a larger female figure. The first head features huge, doting eyes bearing evidence of blue pigment, and the second, larger head features a stern feminine visage beneath a sizable beehive-style coiffure or headpiece. Size of largest: 1" L x 1.5" W x 2.75" H (2.5 cm x 3.8 cm x 7 cm); 4.625" H (11.7 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection; ex-Mr. David F. Hoff collection, Virginia, USA, acquired in the 1990s
