Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Calima, probably Yotoco ca. 500 to 800 CE. Very fine tweezers made of thick, hammered, 22K yellow gold in a curved shape culminating in anchor-shaped termini. A precious tool used to pluck hair from the faces of men. Gold grooming tools like these were created for the use of elite rulers and priests - most likely used during ceremonies and rituals given that they are comprised of precious metal. Size: 1.5" L x .625" W (3.8 cm x 1.6 cm); 2.125" H (5.4 cm) on included custom stand. Weight: 9.4 grams
