Ancient Near East, Islamic, ca. 10th to 12th century CE. A beautiful mold-blown flask of a translucent, yellow-green glass with a concave base and rough pontil scar, an apple-shaped body with a rounded shoulder and indented neck line, and a narrow, tubular neck with a rough rim. The body of the vessel boasts a series of dense pattern-molded decorations in circular and curvilinear motifs, and the neck has several rings of applied rigaree trails with intermittent pinched areas. Faint areas of silver iridescence complement the soft coloration of the vessel. Size: 3.65" W x 6.25" H (9.3 cm x 15.9 cm).
