**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. An attractive spearhead that was hand-knapped from light brown chert. This spear tip has a long neck or tang, perhaps for attaching to a pole or handle, and two pointed fins that point downward from the body. The sharp edges of the body form a triangular blade with a pointed tip. The opaque chert is wonderfully textured with tiered crevices creating curvilinear lines and angles. Size of stone: 7.5" L x 2.75" W (19 cm x 7 cm); frame: 12.25" L x 8.25" W (31.1 cm x 21 cm)

Provenance: private Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA collection; ex-Dr. David Harner collection, Springdale, Arkansas, USA, acquired between the 1950s and 1960s
