Description:

Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, ca. 4th to 2nd millennium BCE. A set of 4 hand-carved stone stamp seals, each with attractive coloration and incised decorations. One gray seal depicts a pair of seated figures and a third standing figure while the white seal shows a series of abstract creatures, perhaps a hunt scene. The other gray seal has indecipherable decorations, and the fourth seal shows abstract linear and spotted patterning. Size of largest (abstract patterns): 1.07" L x 0.48" W x 0.46" H (2.7 cm x 1.2 cm x 1.2 cm)

Provenance: private Lumberton, Texas, USA collection, acquired before 2010
