Description:

**Originally Listed At $550**

Western Europe, Germany, Eichstatt, Solnhofen (Altmuhltal) Formation, Jurassic Period, ca. 160 million years ago. This shrimply amazing prawn fossil preserved in a large limestone matrix slab belongs to the prehistoric genus Aeger, displaying excellent articulation! The body is prepared to be slightly raised above the rest of the flat limestone, in hues of gray-brown that contrast and highlight the exoskeleton, legs, and beady eyes. Light touchups to the fine, lengthy antennae and feathery pleopods, as well as a generous matrix help envision this crustacean scuttling along the sea floor! Size (fossil): 3" L x 1.5" W (7.6 cm x 3.8 cm); (matrix): 17" L x 0.25" W x 12.5" H (43.2 cm x 0.6 cm x 31.8 cm); 12" H (30.5 cm) on included custom stand.
