Description:

East Africa, Madagascar, Cretaceous period, ca. 145 to 66 million years ago. A tall group of ammonites and other ancient shells fossilized in a hardened grey matrix! The ammonites are polished to show off their stunning suture patterning and coloration; umber brown and amber hues with creamy white and wavy sutures. The ammonites appear to be all in the Cleaniceras genus with tightly coiled shells and slightly recessed center coils. The projecting shells create nooks and crannies that could provide interesting lighting opportunities with some creativity! Size: 12" L x 6" W x 16" H (30.5 cm x 15.2 cm x 40.6 cm); 17.5" H (44.4 cm) on included custom stand.
