Description:

Ancient Seas, Middle Miocene to end of Pliocene eras, ca. 23 to 2.6 million years ago. This is a fossilized tooth from a prehistoric megalodon shark - the largest fish or shark to ever exist - with a wonderful coral formation on the root! Megalodon (Carcharodon megalodon, literally "big tooth") is thought to have become extinct about 2 million years ago, although alive and well in our imagination with movies like "The Meg" and the controversial film "Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives" (which presents like a documentary). Many swimmers today fear sharks and the average person can easily identify a shark tooth when they see one. It is clear why these ancient teeth inspire fear, awe, and fascination with both scientists and enthusiasts alike! Size: 5.27" L x 4.13" W (13.4 cm x 10.5 cm); 5.2" H (13.2 cm) on included custom stand.
