Native American, southwestern United States, Navajo tribe, ca. mid-20th century CE. An attractive set of two wearable necklaces formed with dozens of heishi shell beads in hues of caramel and dark brown or creamy yellow and white. The first necklace bears seven lighter sections of beads interspersed along the darker strands and has terminals capped with a pair of curved wire fasteners. The largest necklace features a triangular pendant formed from greenstone and inlaid along the front with crimson-hued stone, turquoise, and a strip of brass. Size of largest (w/ pendant): 18.375" L (46.7 cm); (pendant): 0.625" W x 1.3" H (1.6 cm x 3.3 cm); (necklace w/o pendant): 16.5" L (41.9 cm); (largest bead): 0.375" W (1 cm)
