Pre-Columbian, Colombia, Tairona, ca. 1000 to 1500 CE. A beautiful necklace composed of dozens of cylindrical, seed, discoid, and bullet-form beads carved from vermilion-hued carnelian. Interspersed between the carnelian beads are several rock crystal beads in either near-spherical or triangular forms, and an L-shaped rock crystal pendant hangs from the center of the composition. Strung in modern times and capped with a 14K gold lobster clasp and loop combo, this is a fabulous and wearable necklace ready to accentuate any outfit! Size (necklace): 20.25" L (51.4 cm); size of largest bead (pendant): 1.95" L x 0.9" W (5 cm x 2.3 cm).
