Description:

North America, Mexico, ca. 18th century CE. A lovely iron bayonet head with a cylindrical socketing shaft, a laterally protruding arm, and an attached triangular blade of an elongated form. The socketing shaft is adorned with two registers of broad diamond motifs that are enclosed between upper and lower rings of abstract winged forms. The blade tang features two discoid rings, and the base of the blade exhibits an abstract floral form atop a crosshatched ground. Wonderful patina envelops the entire composition. Size: 1.2" W x 11.8" H (3 cm x 30 cm); 12.6" H (32 cm) on included custom stand.
