Description:

Ancient Art. Egypt, Alexandria, ca. 2nd to 1st century BCE. A mold-made effigy of a seated female wearing a long flowing robe and a large braided necklace, with locks of wavy hair extending to the backside of her head and laurel leaves surrounding her visage. Her hands are extended to either side of her, and two ends of a cloak are tied around her chest. Dimpled cheeks, a flush chin, almond-shaped eyes, and a small forehead round out her feminine features. Size: 2" L x 4" W x 6.125" H (5.1 cm x 10.2 cm x 15.6 cm).

Provenance: ex-private Orange County, California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
