Description:

Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed faience pendant that has been covered with lustrous cobalt blue glaze. The front of the pendant shows a pair of royal uraeus cobras reared in opposite directions, each with a sun disc above its head, and above the serpents is a radiating sun. The top of the artifact bears an integral suspension loop, and the verso is unadorned. An attractive pendant from ancient Egypt! Size: 0.7" W x 1.2" H (1.8 cm x 3 cm)

  • Condition: Minor abrasions to peripheries, verso, suspension loop, and some raised details, with light fading to scattered areas of glaze pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remains of iconography and great remains of glaze throughout.
