Description:

Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 22nd Dynasty, ca. 943 to 720 BCE. A mold-formed faience composition shabti presenting in mummiform while holding a pick and hoe in arms crossed atop the chest; a seed bag is painted in black behind the left shoulder. The aged facial features are shown between headdress lappets and beneath a black headband, and a column of black hieroglyphs painted down the front of the legs reads, "…belongs to god's father Pashedmut…" Size: 1.45" L x 1.77" W x 4.8" H (3.7 cm x 4.5 cm x 12.2 cm)

  • Condition: Abrasions and nicks commensurate with age, with scattered earthen deposits, fading to glaze and painted hieroglyphs, and softening to most finer details on face, otherwise in great condition. Nice preservation to overall form, and some hieroglyphs are still legible.
