Description:

Native American, Western United States, Northwestern California, Wiyot, Hupa, Karok, Yurok culture, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A hand-twined basket made from beargrass and rods of hazel, spruce, or willow, crafted using a single-sided overlay technique in which the triangular pattern is visible only on the exterior. The overlay technique, attributed to the Wiyot and Yurok peoples, later spread to neighboring tribes across Northern California and Southern Oregon. Size: 4.5" Diameter x 3.75" H (11.4 cm x 9.5 cm)
