Description:

Native American, northern/central United States to Southern Canada, Great Lakes region to southern Ontario and Quebec, Ojibwe Indians, ca. early 20th century CE. A fine pair of hand-carved wooden lacrosse sticks with handles engraved with either ringed or latticework patterns. Each stick has a thick handle, a gently tapering main body, and a curling head with several perforations containing the knotted leather netting. The leather netting has many connected strands which are knotted in the center to better contain a ball when keeping it away from an opposing player. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 3.6" W x 30.875" H (9.1 cm x 78.4 cm).
