Description:

Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A lovely forged steel kris dagger with a gentle serpentine profile that oscillates beneath a narrow hand guard. The carved wooden handle takes the form of a mythical demon known as a Nawasari that crouches atop two brass spacer discs inlaid with purple, green, blue, and red glass cabochons. The wooden sheath features a wide guard protector and a slender blade housing that efficiently safeguards the blade's wavy design. Size (w/ sheath): 7.125" W x 22.75" H (18.1 cm x 57.8 cm); (length of blade): 14.7" L (37.3 cm).
