South Pacific, Hawaiian Islands, ca. 1930s CE, made by the Hilo Hattie Company of Hawaii. A broad hat of a lightweight form woven from sturdy grass fibers and adorned with a woven flower band on top. The wide brim surrounds the tall head cavity and provides ample shade for the wearer, and an interior fabric lining increases the comfortability in any weather conditions. Size: 16.75" W x 4" H (42.5 cm x 10.2 cm)

  • Condition: Wearable as shown. Loosening and minor fraying to some woven plant fibers, some detached flower petals on top band, and slight bending to areas of brim, otherwise intact and very good. Nice remaining form.
