Description:

Southeast Asia, The Philippines, Luzon Island, Ifugao Tribe, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A fine trio of warrior pendants made from polished boar tusks. The crescent-shaped tusks are rubbed with red and brown pigment and capped with a woven reed binding around the base. Pendants like these examples were presented to warriors as symbols of their fighting repute or to dancers for their performing prowess. Size of largest (all are relatively similar): 4.25" L x 0.75" W (10.8 cm x 1.9 cm).
