A fine black seal skin busby hat of the King's Royal Rifle Corp with dark green braided cords adorning the exterior and a black boss mounted in front of a narrow plume slot. The interior is lined with black fabric with an original manufacturer's label attached reading "Contract 147 1900 William Stone Army Contractor 20 Old Compton St., Soho, W. Size 22 1/2." Size: 11.875" L x 5.5" H (30.2 cm x 14 cm)

  • Condition: Original plume and chinstrap missing. Repair to small area of pelt on brim. Minor tears to pelt in some peripheral areas, with desiccation and fissures to interior leather lining commensurate with age, and minor staining and fading to braided exterior cord. Fur is still quite soft to the touch.
