Oceania, Southern Australia, Aboriginal peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden spear tip of a slender form with a narrow tang, a thin blade, eighteen downward-facing barbs, and a tapered upper point. Both sides of the brown-painted spear have a red midrib that is flanked by white-and-yellow crosshatch motifs. Size: 1.3" W x 28.2" H (3.3 cm x 71.6 cm); 30" H (76.2 cm) on included custom stand.
