Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Casas Grandes, ca. 1300 CE. A really fun and wonderful example of the superb potter's skill from the Casas Grandes culture. Rounded bowl in Ramos Polychrome with parrots emerging from each side of the vessel. Detailed head with black painted beak and red wings and tail feather adorn each side along with typical casas geometric patterns. Each side has a pair of suspension holes. With a bit of proper restoration this is a $2,000 jar! Size: 7"W at widest point x 5-1/4"H. Provenance: Ex P.
