Description:

Classical World, Southern Italy, Daunia, ca. 6th to 4th century BCE. A wheel-thrown pottery handled kantharos cup with an apple-shaped body, a rounded shoulder, a corseted neckline beneath a flared rim, and a pair of applied handles arching between the rim and midsection, all atop a petite flared foot. The vessel is decorated on all surfaces with pale-orange slip which is then further accentuated with applied red-orange pigment creating both thick and thin stripes across the body and handles. 6 Size: 5.7" W x 4.625" H (14.5 cm x 11.7 cm).
