Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, Guanacaste/Nicoya region, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A beautiful pendant of an abstract saurian form, hand-carved from mottled greenstone with citrine and grey inclusions. The tab-shaped body curves upwards and back down again to a string-cut neck groove, with a minute pair of drilled 'eyes,' and an upraised snout with thin string-cup lips. A biconically-drilled suspension hole is centered on the neck and allows this fine example to accentuate any outfit! Size: 1.625" L x 1.3" H (4.1 cm x 3.3 cm).

Provenance: ex-private West Palm Beach, Florida, USA collection; ex-private Worham collection
