Description:

Pre-Columbian, Central America, Costa Rica, ca. 200 to 600 CE. A strand of mottled gray stone beads with a carved greenstone pendant at the center, string cut with a simple abstract face that consists of a linear mouth and drilled eyes. The beads are strung on a modern wire but can easily be restrung for a more secure necklace that would be worn! Size of strand doubled: 22" L (55.9 cm); carved pendant: 1" L x 0.8" W (2.5 cm x 2 cm)

Provenance: private Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA collection, acquired 1969 to 1970; ex-Dr. Jorge Lineas, San Jose, Costa Rica
