Description:

Greece, Corinth, Rhodes, or eastern Greece, Archaic period, ca. 600 BCE. A large example of a double-handled vessel decorated with lions, swans, and horned animals, painted in two registers around the body and separated by a double line of dots around the widest part of the body. Two small, looped strap handles on the upper body create a pleasing symmetry on the piece. It stands on a broad, flat base with a flared ring around it and has a wide mouth with a thick, flared rim. Size: 6.3" W x 5.4" H (16 cm x 13.7 cm)

This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.
