Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. An endearing pottery vessel in the form of a puppy standing on all fours and wagging his curved tail as he looks forward attentively. The broad mouth of the vessel dramatically rises from the canine's back, ending in a broad, ovoid rim, while his adorable head projects forward presenting a tapered snout, a slightly open mouth, incised eyes, and perky ears. Size: 7.6" L x 5" W x 5.9" H (19.3 cm x 12.7 cm x 15 cm)
