Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima culture, ca. 100 BCE - 250 CE. This female figure was intended to honor or represent a deceased, elite member of the Colima culture. Note the bulging form emerging from her mouth. This represents a "death bubble" or jade bead placed in the "boca" of the elite deceased.
