Description:

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful cast-brass oil lamp with a slightly indented base, gradually expanding walls with a carinated midsection, a sloped shoulder, a circular fill hole, and a protruding wick spout flanked by a pair of indented curves. A petite handle of thick form rises from the verso and is perforated for suspension. Smooth layers of green and brown patina envelop the entire composition and lend to how gracefully this vessel has aged over the centuries. Size: 3.8" L x 2.375" W x 1.9" H (9.7 cm x 6 cm x 4.8 cm)
