East Asia, China, Tang Dynasty, ca. 605 to 655 CE. A fragment of a human mandible containing three molars and the furthest back premolar. All the teeth show signs of wear, but both the premolar and the molar next to it have extensive wear, indicating that it came from an older individual. The mandible has been radiocarbon dated and is accompanied by a report. Size: 4.7" W x 2.65" H (11.9 cm x 6.7 cm); 4.65" H (11.8 cm) on included custom stand.
