**First Time At Auction**

East Asia, China, Sung (Song) Dynasty to Yuan Dynasty , ca. 960 to 1279 CE. A large wheel-thrown stoneware plate upon a ring base, covered in a pale celadon green glaze suffused with a fine network of craquelure, and featuring a central character in blue on a white glazed tondo, surrounded by what appear to be six baskets of foliage oriented in alternating directions in dark green on the celadon ground. A moat-like depression borders the tondo and is decorated with iron oxide, as is the base on the underside below. Size: 10.125" in diameter x 2" H (25.7 cm x 5.1 cm)
