East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty to Republic era, ca. 19th to mid-20th century CE; Western Europe, France, ca. mid-20th century CE. A collection of miniature snuff bottles from China and perfume jars from France, made from glass, elephant ivory, stone, and lacquer. The copper cherub is a perfume jar with a green glass cabochon inlaid on the threaded lid- base is marked "MADE IN FRANCE." The pretty glass amethyst hued perfume jar is also marked on the base "MADE IN FRANCE." The black glass is the "Joy" perfume scent by French designer Jean Patou, marked on the bottom, with an intact dauber wand. The last 4 snuff jars, the smallest is made from elephant ivory and has a threaded lid and spatula. The red jar is carved lacquer with a brass base. The glass jar is painted on the exterior with birds and the brass lid is inlaid with glass cabochons. The last jar is carved from a banded brown stone and is missing the spatula. Size of large painted glass jar: 1.5" W x 3.25" H (3.8 cm x 8.3 cm)
This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece was made prior to CITES bans.

- Condition: Stone jar is missing the spatula. The Jean Patou jar label is rubbed off from the side, but visibly stamped on the base. Minor chips to red lacquer jar, jar has also been tested and is indeed lacquer. Rest are intact and great condition.
