East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A graceful pottery jar showcasing a piriform silhouette and enveloped in a rich, forest green glaze. The vessel presents a bulbous body that dramatically tapers to a conical neck with a projecting ridge and a thick, flared rim, all sitting upon an annular foot. Several incised rings encircle the vessel, further adorning its exterior. Size: 4.7" Diameter x 5.7" H (11.9 cm x 14.5 cm)

A similar, green-glazed jar hammered for $13,750 at Christie's New York as lot 964 on May 10th, 2018 (live auction 16723).
