China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 - 220 CE. Another of the Chinese tomb guardians with three horns protruding from the back of the head and neck. The "lowered head, curled-back tail and flexed rear legs give this small moulded animal an air of tenaciousness and steadfastness." The animal displays much musculature as well. The body is hollow (ref.
