Description:

East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A cast leaded-bronze censer of a bulbous form resting atop a concave circular foot and a slender stem. The hemispherical body features a deep basin meant to hold fragrant incense beneath the vented lid. The surfaces are covered in thick layers of brown and green patina that have formed atop the rich russet patina beneath. Size (w/ lid): 3.8" W x 4.25" H (9.7 cm x 10.8 cm)
