Description:

East Asia, China, Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Warring States Period, ca. 475 to 221 BCE. A cast-bronze short sword blade of bifacial design with a shallow midrib, sharpened edges, and pointed shoulder corners bearing nubbins from the original casting tangs. The handle tang is of dense form capable of withstanding countless swings, and a petite prong indicates how the handle panels attached at one time. Green and russet patina has formed across the blade over the centuries, but many areas of the underlying, silver-colored metal are visible. Size: 17.7" L x 1.7" W (45 cm x 4.3 cm)
