Ancient Central Asia, Indus Valley, Harappan / Mohenjo-Daro civilization, ca. 2700 to 2000 BCE. A hand-built pottery zebu bull standing on a quartet of nubbin legs with a thick body bearing brown stripes and a characteristic hump protruding from its back. The raised head presents with circular, brown-painted eyes, a petite snout, and a pair of grand horns adorned with brown ringlets. The hump on the bull's back symbolized power, strength, virility, and the animal's role as a leader of the herd. Bulls were a significant symbolic animal in this civilization's iconography and were revered for their great spiritual purpose. Size: 3.8" L x 2.1" W x 2.7" H (9.7 cm x 5.3 cm x 6.9 cm)
